A novel by Peter S. Beagle (yes, the one that wrote The Last Unicorn) about a man who lives (with his raven) as a recluse in a cemetery in New York City. My father spent years trying to find a copy for me when i was young, as his had been permanently borrowed while he was in college.

It has a somewhat unique version of what happens to people once they die, a charming talking raven (how can one resist), chess games with the dead, and meditations on guilt and regret, and fear of failure.

The title is taken from the Andrew Marvell poem, To His Coy Mistress.
