(What I am trying to do with this series is create an Urban Fantasy that sees the city iself as a living thing full of magic. It's is not enough to simply place magic in a city; the magic ought to be, in some way, a reflection of urban life. kate Griffin's matthew Swift series does this well, and I have here attempted to emulate her style -- although it kind of veers off after a while.)
