Summer camp,
1974. All our various groups were on an outing in the
Blue Ridge Mountains, mingling for the first time. Our supervisor had us telling
riddles. Some kid had one:
What's brown and green and in the Marines?
Gomer's Pile!
It must have touched my goofy nerve; I laughed, almost uncontrollably - I didn't know I had that kind of laughter in me.
One of those you had to be there moments, I guess.
