An
English language translation of the sound one makes when they're
wailing out a good
cry. While this is seemingly the
origin, the term is more often turned around and said
back to the person crying, usually in order to sarcastically
mock them. This occurs in situations where the listener feels that person is crying because they are a
spoiled brat not getting their way, playing
victim excessively, or it is perceived the person isn't even
sad...they may just be crying to get
attention.
However, it has also been said by a "listener" who really doesn't give half a flying rat's ass about the person who is crying to begin with.
