It's a reworking of the song of the same name written and recorded by
Roky Erickson and Tommy Hall as
Thirteeth Floor Elevators from the album Easter Everywhere. The Scream condense Roky's 14 verses of psychedelia into a more manageable 4, and sing "trip" for "slip".
