The Bellagio is an upscale hotel and casino that opened in Las Vegas, Nevada October 15th, 1998 on Flamingo Street of the Las Vegas Strip. It has a Tuscan (Italian) theme. Casino mogul Steve Wynn and MGM Mirage spent $1.6 billion to build the extragavent property. The hotel has over 3,000 rooms. The average room rate is currently over $180 per night.
The Bellagio is well known for its tremendous and large choreographed fountain show, the "O" show by Cirque du Soleil, the romantic botanical gardens, its large poker room, and its high limit table games.
Other Las Vegas properties owned by MGM Mirage (in August, 2001) include: MGM Grand, New York New York, The Mirage, Treasure Island, and The Golden Nugget. Other properties outside Vegas include: Beau Rivage - Biloxi, MGM Grand - Detroit, Primm Resorts - Primm Valley, and Golden Nugget - Laughlin.
