Children of science fiction fans, which by extension includes fantasy fans and any other collection of nerds that has formed its own subculture with conventions, costumes, and dysfunctional behavior. A lot of fanbrats tend to be similar to Third Culture Kids.
Some of them grow up to be fairly normal people, whatever the hell that means in 21st century America. Others don't.
