I built a castle and climbed its turrets
Dreamed that the clouds were something that could be
Touched up repainted or replaced with skin
That smelt like summer and looked like summer
Still warm to the touch I ran my fingers
Through to the bone ‘til they looked like bleached oars
Paddling a tide that looks sunbrushed until
The stones turn to sand to make concrete and
I can build a new castle with old views
Of a courtyard where the couples still kiss
