Born young in Illinois, went to school, learned the art of slacking, got married. Raised two kids without benefit of Prozac. Lived 27 years in Oregon, Colorado for nine and counting. I've been a puppet, a pauper, a pirate, a poet, a pawn and a king ... well, maybe that's a little hyperbolic (I know some big words, too). I've operated front-end loaders, done r & d in a corporate lab, preserved state documents for posterity, been sole proprietor of an independent computer and software store, engaged in the delicate art of staying sane while tutoring end-users, and written fiery letters to the editor. I'm currently retired and intensely interested in avoiding the onset of dementia. Likes: reading, woodworking, aviation (got my Private ticket in 1988), chocolate shakes, PBS, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, and giving my inner child free rein in the arts. That would be dabbling, and I do mean dabbling, with watercolors, pastels, guache, and oil paints. (I'd mention my wife here, but hey - this is about me, right?)
