Blues band fronted by Elliott Sharp. Terraplane has two albums out, the most recent being a two-CD set on the Knitting Factory's record label.

According to an interview (see Udara 1: Elliott Sharp interview), the band name comes from a science fiction novel by Jack Womack, part of Womack's Ambient series and takes place in the 1939 New York City of an alternate universe. It's also derived from "Terraplane Blues," one of the 29 Robert Johnson songs.
