Blake Schwarzenbach's vocal cords were torn up from years of punk rock wailing and the surgery turned his voice to a sound that displeased most old fans (though in the long run it has become a most pleasing voice for
Jets to Brazil).
Dear You was also released on the major record label,
Geffen, which you can imagine really pissed of the
indie crowd following
Jawbreaker.
The album is one of my personal favorites however!
