One of these was my first mac! I distinctly remember my dad buying the thing from a small computer shop in
Woolwich, probably in 1993, as I remember it being relatively inexpensive, and these shipped at around £1200 initialy. My dad actually used to carry the thing to work with him on a regular basis, as a sort of primitive
laptop. It was also the first computer I ever used to access the internet, back in the days when the web barely existed. It was soon
superceeded in our house by a
quadra 650, at which point the performa became a toy for me and my brother to play with. We soon got bored of it, and it was lent to some family friends for a while. It currently resides in the
attic, in a vauge hope that it will be worth something in 30 years time.
