If we knew now
what we knew when we were little
that Spring is about barefeet 'n popsicles 'n
staying up late
'n trips to the Zoo (even tho' it smells)
'n softball practice.
If we woke up again, the way we used to
running down stairs to
catch cartoons and spill cereal bowls
if we chased fireflies and frogs and neighbor cats
if we chased after life the way we used to
like we want to
everyday would be spring-almostsummer
if we knew now, what we knew then.
