HARLEQUIN'S DECLARATION

I am in disguise
hiding in attics
among flowers.

Somtimes I cavort on roofs
& disturb pigeons. I receive
only sunburn for these exertions.

The occasional child
comes to visit. First
without knowledge of parents
later with their full consent.

I avoid people as they avoid me
content with the sunbeams
in intermittant play about my face.
