An ice cream dessert consisting of a layer of vanilla ice cream, with a layer of cookie bits in the middle, and followed by a layer of chocolate ice cream. Very popular in the 1980s, when they were sold by the Carvel ice cream company.

Also the name of the first Beastie Boys hit song, released in 1982 on the New York punk record label Ratcage Records. The song is a hip-hop track built around a prank call to Carvel, asking for Cookie Puss as a person. This song was played in clubs around New York, and caught the ear of Rick Rubin, who picked the Beastie Boys up on his new Def Jam record label. One can now find the song on the Beastie Boys EP Some Old Bullshit released in 1994.
