This carrot recipe is designed to help clear your pathways and even works as a good food preceding meditation, hence the strange name. It is used around this time of year because carrots are appropriate "root" food for the season, and it is the "dark" time of year when we do our soul searching and meditation. If you are not fasting before an important meditation, this dish is a nice light one that will lend its associations to your cause.

Ingredients:

Directions:

Boil or steam the carrots until tender. Drain. Add the butter, brown sugar, ginger, and cinnamon; stir until the carrots are well-coated.

Yield: 6 servings

Use for: Samhain

Note: In this noder's opinion, it is better without the brown sugar.
