Days of Awe refers to the 10 days between/including Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, and Yom Kippur. Also known as the Ten Days of Repentance, this is a time for contemplation and re-evaluation of self.
The three keys to achieving this are as dimpster says: Teshuva, Tefilla, Tzedaka.
  • Teshuva
Turning inwards, focusing on onesself and ones actions, assessing which laws one has transgressed, where one has gone astray.
  • Tefilla
Turning upwards, acknowledging a Higher Being and asking for forgiveness, acceptance.
  • Tzedakah
This is not just charity in the literal sense. Turning outwards to fellow people, demonstrating goodness and pure intentions with concrete examples.
