Cetaphil is a line of skin care products manufactured by Galderma, a pharmaceutical company that specializes in dermatological products. The Gentle Skin Cleanser, the original product that has been available for over 50 years, is recommended by dermatologists everywhere and has long been touted by women's magazines as one of the best products for removing make-up and cleaning facial skin. One of its convenient features is that it does not require water for either of these purposes as it wipes off without leaving residue. It's also fragrance-free and non-comedogenic, which is nice for those with sensitive skin.

The Cetaphil product line has been expanded to include cleansing bars (not soap - their soap-freeness is one of their big selling points), moisturizers, and new formulations of the original flagship skin cleanser for different skin types.

Galderma is a joint venture between Nestlé and L'Oréal, two multinational companies. Most drug store generic versions of the Gentle Skin Cleanser (at least the ones I have tried - from Walgreens and CVS) are identical to the Cetaphil brand.
