In some cases, it's actually possible to skip the
final. In classes on hard subjects, subjects in which
there is a right answer and everything else is wrong, you typically know what you deserve on the final exam, and that's about what you get.
Some professors, realizing this, let students who are getting an A skip the final. This doesn't happen often, but when it does, it's the most awesome thing in the world.
