Woop Woop is one of two
apocryphal or
ficticious places in the
collective unconscious of all
Australian people (the other being
Beyond the Black Stump).
Woop Woop is an imagined country town so far removed from civilisation that there is absolutely no reason to ever visit there. Woop Woop is usually populated with the most eccentric and base people any Australian could imagine.
"Jeez, mate, I'm not gunna drive you out there! It's bloody Woop Woop"
The young Australian film director, Paul J Hogan, made a film in 1998 depicting this place, entitled Welcome to Woop Woop.
