In case you have no idea what a
Holden is (or rather was), it refers to an
Australian automobile manufacturer.
This advertisement was designed to make us Aussies feel a surge of patritoism by linking things quintessentially Australian together, the Australian Rules football, the meat pies we consumed whilst watching the football and the kangaroo which was probably contained somewhere in the meat pie.
Presumably we drove our Holden cars to the game.
Before Holden merged with General Motors it was the only Australian car manufacturer.
As I recall the jingle went something like:
"We love football, meat pies, kangaroos and Holden cars..."
...and was quite a catchy jingle.
