Green Window (thing)

Most larger stations on the JR network have "Green Windows," which are called Midori no madoguchi in Japanese. Although intracity tickets are sold by machines nowadays, you still have to deal with a person in the Green Window if you want:

• A first class ("Green Car") ticket
• An inter-regional ticket
• A commuter pass ("teikiken")
• A special rail pass such as a Seishun 18 Ticket
