Klang Valley is one of the most developed area in
Malaysia. The towns and cities in the valey of the
Klang river include
Kuala Lumpur the capital city of
Malaysia,
Shah Alam the capital of the
Malaysian State of
Selangor, and
Klang the royal town of
Selangor.
The Klang Valley is well served by all modes of transportation: roads, rail and air.
Four major highways join the Klang town near the mouth the Klang river on the west, to Kuala Lumpur on the east. The highways are: Federal Highway, North Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE), Konsortium Expressway Shah Alam Selangor (KESAS) and the yet to be completed South Klang Valley Expressway (SKVE)
There is a commuter rail service by KTMB between Klang and Kuala Lumpur, though it is much slower than taking express buses, except when there are accidents on the Federal Highway.
