One half of the band Roxette. Born January 12, 1959 in Halmstad, Sweden. Started his career in music business in the late 70s, when he formed a band called Gyllene Tider ("Golden Times") with his friends. Gyllene Tider became very popular in Sweden in the early 80s. Most popular song, although rarely recognized as a song written by Per Gessle, is "Sommartider" ("Summer Times"). Gyllene Tider split up after their year 1984 album "Heartland Café".

In 1986, Per duets with popular Swedish female artist Marie Fredriksson. The song is called "Neverending Love" and the duo is called Roxette. Later same year, they release their first album, "Pearls of Passion". Since then, Per's career has been highly successful. His albums have sold about 40 million copies.

Per was married to Åsa Nordin on August 21, 1993. They got their first child, Gabriel Titus on August 5, 1997. They live in a huge villa in Halmstad, but Per also owns a luxury apartment in Stockholm.

He has also invested in many companies, such as new media agency Famestudios. He partly owns a hotel in Tylösand, Halmstad.
