• Private parts at least 2 feet apart, when in formal settings.
• Bear hugging so as to squeeze the breath out of the other is perfectly acceptable.
• Short in duration.
• Pats on the back; "We're hugging, but I'm hitting you."
• You're definitely not allowed to rest your chin on the other's shoulder.

If you don't follow these rules, it's likely that homophobes will think you're gay. This is a Bad Thing.
