Fort Pickett, Virginia. Currently the Virginia Army National Guard's Maneuver Training Center. An extensive military installation formerly all active duty US Army, and has roots that date back before World War II.

The base is always host to a wide variety of activities. Units are always coming in and out, varying from MASH units to Infantry and Artilery.

On the base is also Blackstone Army Air Field (KBKT), a dual runway airport, that is dual military and civil use (Perkinson Municipal Airport, operated by the town of Blackstone).

Parts of the base were purchased by local civilian interests, when the base was closed as an active Army installation due to the military base consolidation under President Clinton, before the Virginia National Guard aquired the remainder of the base. It is still active today.
