One of the biggest indie labels not to ever sign a market deal with a major label. Known for putting out very sharp-edged rock + roll (The Jesus Lizard, Butthole Surfers, Big Black). Founded by Corey Rusk in 1981 to put out music by his own band, The Necros. In 1986 Rusk moved to Chicago, where the label has since been based. Rusk also founded Quarterstick Records in 1990, home of June of 44. Touch and Go have at various times been the distributor for Merge, Trance, Invisible, Drag City, Skin Graft, Atavistic, and Estrus, among others.
