50s Washington, DC doo-wop sextet, whose membership included Don Covay,
Billy Stewart, and
Marvin Gaye, who were later to achieve stardom as solo
singers. Despite such future star power in their ranks, the lead singer was a guy named John Berry. There may not be much recorded evidence of the group beyond their
1955 "Mary Lee" 45.
Not to be confused with Randy and the Rainbows, who were from Queens and formed years later; that's the group that did "that Blondie song", a.k.a. "Denise".
