You've heard his voice somewhere. He was the host of American Top 40 (or something) on radio for many years, with a television top-ten spinoff; the "Top __" franchise has mutated over time, but I suspect he's still at it. He has also done voices in cartoons for years; he was the voice of Robin in the old Batman toons, for instance.

Kasem is what you might term a "limousine liberal", but he seems a bit too sincere (in spite of his on-air insincerity as a DJ - the smuggled-out tapes reveal much) to be lumped in with those offenders; he's also an activist, of sorts, for Arab-American issues, being, I think, of Lebanese descent. Jean Kasem, Casey's wife, had a recurring role on Cheers, which led to a brief spinoff called The Tortellis. Right?
