A coalition against the United States' entry into WWII. Some followers were pacifist, some were isolationist; some - explicitly or implicitly - were pro-Hitler: Charles Lindbergh said Germany should be an ally in fighting the "real" enemy, the "yellow danger" of Japan and China. The organization scattered, of course, after Pearl Harbor, and "America First" became a pejorative, as the US began to enjoy the perks of empire. The phrase is now sometimes pinned to Pat Buchanan's ass.
