1975 cult film by
Alexander Jodorowsky. Filled with
bizarre,
grotesque, and utterly
fascinating imagery and
symbolism.
There is a loose
plot in the
film : an
alchemist,
played by Jodorowsky, leads a
group of his
followers, the most
important of which is a
Christ-like figure who the first half of the movie focuses on, to the top of
the Holy Mountain to discover
eternal life. Whether or not the movie makes a
valid statement is arguable - either way, it's quite a
trip.
