Leading track off the 1992 Prince and the New Power Generation album with the funny symbol and no name. The song debuted his new backing music team of the New Power Generation, a funk/hip-hop bybrid. Bizarre video had Prince singing with some kind of hat that had gold links streaming down to cover his face.
"My name is Prince and I am FUNKY!"
Interestingly, two years later, his name wasn't Prince anymore...instead, he declared that his name was that same symbol from which this song appeared on, throwing everybody for a loop since it wasn't a character of any language and, therefore, unpronouncable. He finally declared last year that since his contract with Warner Brothers was expired, he decided to revert back to the name of Prince...making this song oh so relevant again (except maybe the funky part...I think he lost it after "Batman").
