Yet another failed attempt to apply
meatspace terms to
cyberspace. The falacy is that it assumes screen space is finite. While this is somewhat true in
Windows, and very true in
MacOS, in any decent windowing system it is false. Property would not have much inherent value if there were an infinite amount of it; likewise,
programs that take up lots of screen space are not bad - you can always create more screens / desktops.
That said, a program should not use more screen space unless using more screen space makes the program easier to use. Additionally, no program should require your entire screen unless it is impossible to use while doing something else (i.e. Quake). A big offender here is
Blender; it takes up my whole screen whether I like it or not. Since I want to have certain
Always On Top programs running while I use Blender, I should be able to resize it.
