September sunshine shines for a year
And seven months; it started on the thirteenth.
Then in April, the clouds came around.
The bastard... he took no time to let the rain down.

Spilling up, spilling over,
Twirl and twist into a sadistic design
Spilling up, spilling over,
The river of red is showing 'cause the cup is overflowing

Now she walks all by herself.
Cheeks now dry, she stops and stares.
Mind is clearing, thoughts are searing;
Only way to heal's with death.

Spilling up, spilling over,
Twirl and twist into a sadistic design
Spilling up, spilling over,
The river of red is showing 'cause the cup is overflowing

The wound is fresh, but the cut's not deep.
She says, "Hello, darling; now you can sleep.
The battle's all over; the war's been won.
I won't love you forever; now it's done."

Spilling up, spilling over,
Twirl and twist into a sadistic design
Spilling up, spilling over,
The river of red is showing 'cause the cup is overflowing

Culebra isn't exactly known for uplifting lyrics, and this piece is no different. However, Now It's Done is somewhat unique in that it actually tells a (mostly-true) story. The 'characters' are based on real people. The bridge always chills me to the bone... it's a story about a relationship that doesn't end well, to say the least.

As for the overflowing cup, this actually refers to a favorite metaphor of Jennie's. Picture someone who annoys, frustrates or angers you. Now imagine that each time you are wronged by him or her, a cup keeps filling more and more. Get it? ... Okay, I don't really get it either.

Now It's Done has a lost verse, which I will put here if I can ever get my hands on it.
