An actor who immediately became a celebrity after Dirty Dancing came out. His career followed up with playing the ghost in Ghost. His career isn't at its peak right now, though, but he still appears on Hollywood Squares, and was in "To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything, Julie Newmar" in drag.

Swayze is 5 foot 10 inches, and is married to actress Lisa Niemi, with whom he was teamed in the mediocre movie Steel Dawn. He's received 2 Golden Globe nominations for Dirty Dancing and Ghost.

His mother was choreographer Patsy Swayze, so it's not suprising he's a good dancer. He met his wife Lisa when she was 15 and a student of his mom. His education included the Harkness Ballet School, the Joffrey Ballet School, and San Jacinto College. He first performed as a dancer in Disney on Parade, and in the Broadway production of "Grease."

In 1991, he was chosen by People magazine as one of the 50 Most Beautiful People in the world and made the title of 'Sexiest Man alive' for the magazine the same year. The only published figures show that he made $5 million for Father Hood in 1993.

Here's some IMDB facts: In May 1997 he broke his leg when he fell off a horse while filming "Letters From a Killer". He owns a five-acre spead called Rancho Bizarro. Older brother of Don Swayze. Former Roman Catholic, Baptist, Buddhist and Scientologist. He's also a recovering alcoholic, think there's a connection? He may even be a noder here. Oh, and he was in an episode of Clerks: the Animated Series, where his career is over and he's working in a pet store. He wouldn't do the voiceover of his own character, so Gilbert Gottfried stood in.
