laundry is your dirty clothing. While its sitting in your hamper, or thrown about the floor, it will smell. However, when you put in a washing machine, and add tide, or any other detergent, the machine will whirl and POOF!, you have clean clothing. (Don't forget to put in three quarters first). After you clean it, you have to dry it in a dryer.
