apt-rpm (also known as AptRpm) is a port of the original Debian apt-get
(see also: apt
) program for an RPM
based Linux Distribution
originaly only worked on Debian
based systems. Apt-rpm does nothing else besides providing the package management
, dependency sulving, package retriving funcionality of apt-get
to RPM based platforms.
The first distribution that started using it was Conectiva
, which sponsored the porting effort. Today, there are some (several?) other distributions using it.
