It's a wonderful thing to become old enough that people cannot tell you what to READ, how to read, or when to read. It's a wonderful thing to become old enough that people cannot tell you what to write, how to WRITE, or when to write. Something about freedom, the pursuit of happiness, laws and rights. At least in some lands. At least on paper, which they are trying to limit or eliminate. Paper, I guess nothing is sacred or safe.

In the recent down time of E2, please forgive me if I offend anyone with that fact, I just keep reading and writing and living my scattered life. As much as I have poked fun at Wikipedia, I personally have never experienced that site down, so I often go there, among other places, to gather facts and fiction. My all time favorite article was about the Ig Nobel Prizes, "achievements that first make people laugh, and then make them think." (improbable.com/ig/)

In The World According to Jimbo, it is "an American parody of the Nobel Prizes...for ten unusual or trivial achievements in scientific research." Now, I realize you are all probably old enough and free, in the broadest sense of both words, so I'm merely suggesting that if you haven't already, check out the main article, then the list of Ig Nobel Prize winners, at your leisure, and if you have NO KNOWN ALLERGIES to Wikipedia. The following is a partial list of my favorites:

1991- Robert Clark Graham..."a sperm bank that accepts donations only from Nobellians and Olympians"

1992- Eclaireurs de France,..."removers of graffiti..."

1994- Literature, L. Ron Hubbard
Mathematics, Southern Baptist Church of Alabama..."for their county-by-county estimate of how many Alabama citizens will go to Hell if they don't repent."

1996- Don Featherstone..."for his ornamentally evolutionary invention, the plastic pink flamingo"

1998- Peter Fong..."for contributing to the happiness of clams by giving them Prozac

2009- Elena N. Bodnar, Raphael C. Lee, Sandra Marijan..."for inventing a bra that can quickly be converted into a pair of gas masks- one for the wearer and one to be given to a needy bystander." (my note: the youtube demonstration of this is beyond PRICELESS)

2011- Peace, Arturus Zuokas..."the problem of illegally parked luxury cars can be solved by running them over with a tank."
