'Private' Company that owns the infrastructure of
British Railways. They determine if you are going to meet your destination or not and also a fair proportion of the price of your fare. They are responsible for murder with The
Paddington Rail Disaster and the
Southall Rail Disaster. Both were totally avoidable if decent management and investment had been in place.
They are an absolute monopoly that makes money from very poorly maintained track. They have scarcely invested in new track. Recently they have been named as one of the countries worst polluters for allowing diesel oil to leak into the water table.
Their Chairman has publicly shown that he places shareholders first and still will not invest in the necessary safety equipment.
