The Leadville Trail 100
is an Ultra-marathon
that is held in August
. About four hundred runners run
s ranging from high 9000 to 12,600ft. The race takes up to 30
hours and usually at least half
of the entrants drop out
because of dehydration
. Acute Mountain Sickness
is also a problem.
This also referrs to a similar race held the week before, where mountain bike riders ride a similar course in under 12 hours.
ultra-runners are an insane breed who are usually reaching that mid-life crisis age.
