A name given to a special class
of muppet that Jim Henson's Workshop
used to use constantly. The Anything Muppets were just a bunch of vague bodylike
shapes in which all the parts were detachable
. There were about sixteen of the Anything Muppets at any one given time, and by just grabbing a couple of the Anything Muppet bodies and a couple handfuls of Anything Muppet parts (ears
, etc.) the Workshop could create a number of totally unique
muppets-- never seen before, never to be seen again-- in a couple of minutes.
No matter what form that they took, the Anything Muppets were never particularly distinctive, and rarely if ever used for any purpose other than as extras.
