A relatively common
expression, at least in certain areas of the
south.
Common usage would be something like "
My Goodness,
Ethel, have you been
sick? You look like Death Eating a Cracker this morning!"
Apparently the concept of death embodied into a physical form, no matter how terrible and ghastly it may be on its own, is even more terrible and ghastly when the physical apparition in question is eating a cracker. I don't know why. It's just something people say.
You probably think i am pulling all of this out of my ass, but i assure you i am not. People really do use this expression.
