The opposite of the way icicle quotes The Simpsons, but a paradoxically intriguing idea nonetheless. A few things/situations I approach with very careful abandon would be

  • Meeting women. I'm not so much scared of rejection, as I am scared of looking stupid; hence I survey, come up with a non-line (would you like a drink, how are you doing, would you like to dance), and go.
  • Buying cheap music. Yeah I know no one needs 10 copies of the new The Sound of Urchin EP, but they're only five bucks at www.stevenrecs.com. This habit would also account for the large number of bad (though cheap) jazz albums I have.
  • Skipping dinner. I do it often, though with careful consideration of the ramifications beforehand.

This phrase is going into my general vocabulary. Thanks icicle.
