radio station WXRT in

Illinois. XRT
advertises itself as "Chicago's
finest rock", and it's
absolutely true. They don't follow the
top 40 songs, they don't care what's
popular. They just play good, solid
rock,
blues, and
progressive music
around the clock.
XRT is best known for its extensive collection of live recordings. They've been sponsoring concerts in Chicago for two or three decades now, and have recorded most of them. Every weekend they have shows rebroadcasting their best concerts from years past. More or less every year they release, around Christmastime, a CD chock-full of live songs from throughout their entire archive and give all the proceeds to charity.
