Baureihe (Class) 111 was built for Deutsche Bundesbahn by a consortium including Krauss-Maffei, Henschel, Krupp and Siemens from 1974 through 1984 and is still in service with Deutsche Bahn's short-distance daughter, DB Regio. It is a robust, all-round electrical locomotive pulling RegionalBahn, RegionalExpress and S-Bahn trains and such.
