snail belonging to the family
Fasciolaria. The shell is strong, thick and
spindle-shaped with a pointed, elevated
spire and a long
siphonal canal. The inner lip is usually decorated with 3 or 4
oblique folds.
These slow moving
gastropods are usually found in warm, tropical seas.
