A 1653 edition of the King James Bible, where the word "not" was (unintentionally?) left out. So, instead of reading:
- Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God
in 1
Corinthians 6, it read
- Know ye not that the unrighteous shall inherit the kingdom of God
Of course, it was recalled immediately.
Something similar had already happened in
1631 with the so-called
Wicked Bible; and was to happen again in
1702 and
1801 with the so-called
Printer's Bible and
Murderer's Bible.
