Like echolalia, palilalia refers to the repetition of words, phrases, or sentences; however, echolalic patients repeat others' words, while palilalic patients repeat their own. Palilalia (say it five times fast and you ARE palilalic) is seen in a number of neurologic and psychiatric disorders, including Tourette's syndrome and mania, where patients will (seemingly involuntarily) spit out the same phrase over and over again. The repetition seen in patients with Alzheimer's disease or other forms of dementia is a bit different--instead of being a tic, it generally occurs because the patient has forgotten what he or she just told you.

In noders, palilalia is generally a result of reposting form data (don't do it!)
