RuBee is a wireless identification system, similar to RFID. It
uses a low frequency carrier as opposed to radio frequency which
gives it several advantages:
- Cost - RuBee provides more functionality for a lower cost respective to an RFID tag with similar features.
- Long Life - The RuBee tag runs at low speed because of the low
frequencies it uses to transmit information. Batteries can last up to
15 years.
- Security - Tags are far more secure than their RFID counterparts.
The range at which one can intercept messages is about the same as the
range of the tag itself. The tag can also implement further security
measures such as keys and pads.
