Mr. Schafer is the legendary designer of
Lucas Arts adventure games
Day of the Tentacle,
Full Throttle, and
Grim Fandango. In addition to design, he been credited as
programmer,
project leader,
director,
producer, and
writer (including
dialogue and story).
Schafer resigned from his ten-year run at Lucas Arts in January of 2000, because it was "getting a little bit too comfortable." In July of that year he founded a development company called Double Fine Productions, which develops next-generation console games, at least for now. An adventure game is due out in 2002.
The main difference between the visionaries and me in the industry would probably be that they are visionaries and I am not.
He's a 5'10 UC Berkeley grad with black hair.
